Private Obedience Classes
Traditional dog obedience classes focus on teaching the dog behaviors such as sit, down, come, heel and stay. This typically results in you and your dog being able to do these behaviors in the classroom and perhaps in your home with no distractions, but doesn't teach you how to apply these behaviors to the "real world". Good Pup's dog obedience training focuses on teaching you how to train your dog and how to apply what you learn in class to your everyday life. My goal is for you to be able to problem solve – to be able to know what to do with your dog in any given situation.

  • This package of 4 private obedience classes are held at our office or in the comfort of your home.

Board and Train
Your pup will live in our home as part of our "pack" for the duration of their training – no kennels or runs, so house manners are constantly enforced. Board and Train programs are typically 2 to 4 weeks in duration depending on the needs of you and your pup. All Board and Train programs include a pre-training consultation, updates throughout, post-training consult at time of pick up, one follow up consultation and unlimited phone and email support. We do not accept aggression or potty training for board and train programs. Pups must be current on vaccinations, on heartworm and flea prevention.

Skype™ Training Sessions
Step into the 21st century with dog training through technology!  Skype™ consults are great if you have a new puppy, one or two behavior problems you would like to change, want to work on some obedience cues or just want a refresher.  Whether you live outside the Kansas City area or anywhere in the United States, Skype™ can be an effective, flexible and convenient option.  Skype™ consults include written materials and follow up care via email.  Some restrictions apply.

  • $60 per hour

Dog Behavior

Expert Behavior Counseling
Good Pup uses positive reinforcement methods to teach you how to modify your dog's unwanted behavior. I come to your home for a couple of hours, observe and assess your dog's behavior then create a training plan for you that will fit into your family's lifestyle. Follow up through phone and email support is included at no additional charge.

Pre-Adoption Counseling
Getting the right breed/dog for you, your family and your lifestyle is imperative to having a good experience with your new pup. Let me help you find just the right match.

  • $15 at our office (perhaps the best $15 you will spend on your new pup)

Obstacles and Obedience
Obstacles and Obedience is high energy class that combines “agility for fun” with obedience training for a great class that both you and your dog will love!  You will learn to work with your dog to maneuver through and over obstacles and learn or solidify obedience cues.  This is great exercise, training and bonding with your dog while having fun.

Dogs must be current on vaccines including DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies and be dog and people friendly.  This class is held outside and is weather dependent - the temperature must be between 50 and 85 degrees by 8:00 am the morning of class with no rain.

  • 5 Week Course - $100

  • Individual practice/play session - $15/hour - must be scheduled in advance

Puppy

Puppy Head Start
Puppy Head Start is an innovative program completed in your home that makes raising your new puppy a stress free and enjoyable experience – from housetraining, jumping, nipping and chewing to happy vet visits. Whether you have never had a puppy before or it has just been a while since your last puppy, Puppy Head Start prevents bad behaviors from starting – it is always easier to prevent bad behavior than to change bad behavior.

  • $80 (in home)

Do-It-Yourself Puppy Training Guide (e-book and email support)
Do-It-Yourself Puppy Training Guide is a comprehensive, easy to understand e-book that will teach you how to effectively understand and change your puppy's behavior, clearly communicate with and teach your puppy to be calm, well behaved and happy as well as how to teach your puppy basic obedience commands.

The difference between DIY Puppy Training Guide and other e-books is that with Good Pup's DIY Puppy Training Guide, you get follow up support. Once you have purchased Good Pup's DIY Puppy Training Guide, any questions you have regarding the content or the practical application of the training ideas and methods will be answered via email or phone.
